Frequently Asked Questions
Quick fitment checklist
Read the exact tire size printed on your current tire sidewall (example: 20x4.0, 26x4.0).
Match diameter x width exactly.
Confirm your rim width and frame/fork clearance if you’re changing widths.
If you’re unsure, message us before ordering with:

How do I know which tire size fits my e-bike?
Check your current tire sidewall for the size marking (example: 20x4.0, 26x4.0). The first number is diameter, the second is width. Match these numbers exactly when ordering.
If the sidewall is worn, measure:
Tire diameter (overall)
Tire width (at the widest point)
Common sizes we carry: 16x4, 20x3, 20x4, 20x5, 26x3, 26x4.
Can I mix different tire sizes on the same bike?
We don’t recommend mixing sizes. Both tires should match for proper handling, braking, and safety. If you’re replacing only one tire, match your existing size exactly.
Are tire prices per tire or per pair?
All tire prices are per individual tire (per piece). If you need two tires, order quantity 2.
Do your tires come with tubes?
Listings will specify “with tube” or tubeless options. Always check the product title + description.
Will your fat tires fit my regular (non-fat) bike?
Fat tires require the right frame/fork clearance and rim width. Most regular bikes can’t fit fat tires due to clearance limitations.
What’s the difference between tread patterns?
Street / smooth: best for pavement, lower rolling resistance
Knobby: better off-road traction (dirt/sand)
Mixed / snake skin style: balanced for mixed terrain
What does TPI mean (Threads Per Inch)?
TPI is part of the tire’s construction.
Higher TPI (example: 60+) typically feels more flexible/smoother
Lower TPI (example: 30–40) typically has a stiffer casing
If you tell us your bike + riding style, we’ll point you to the best option.
Tubes + “Tubeless” Tires (Moto-style)
These say “tubeless” — do I need tubeless rims?
Not necessarily. Some of our 20x4 options are tubeless-rated motorcycle tires (thick/heavy casing). Most e-bike fat rims are not tubeless-ready, so the normal setup is to run them with a tube.
If you want to run true tubeless, you’ll need a tubeless-compatible rim/tape/valve setup and correct bead seating.

Technical basics
What PSI should I run?
Always follow the PSI range printed on the tire sidewall.
General starting points:
20x4: 20–30 PSI
26x4: 15–25 PSI
Lower PSI = more comfort/traction. Higher PSI = more efficiency/speed.
My tire won’t seat properly on the rim
Confirm the tire size matches your rim
Make sure the bead is evenly seated all the way around
Tubeless setups may require sealant + higher initial pressure to seat
If you’re stuck, message us with photos/video of the tire on the rim.
How long do fat tires last?
Typical range is 1,000–3,000 miles depending on pressure, terrain, riding style, and maintenance.
